It is easy to use image files on web pages and they serve to adorn the web pages

to use your own pictures

Photographs may be converted to image files using a scanner. The T-205 open lab has a scanner you can use. Ask the aide there to help you

1. Image files may be found all over the web. Usually using a search engine will work very well and produce all kinds of possibilities.
2. For instance if you want pictures of the Arabian desert, try Arabian desert photos. I tried this, and got references to pictures of horses. :-( Anyway if I refine this search, and use a good search engine, I can readily find appealing photos

3. When you have found a photo
   Right click on it
   Click on ‘Save Image As’
   Put a: in the Save In dialogue box
   In the lower dialogue box you may use the given filename or you may change it to a more pleasing name
   The important thing is that the file needs to have a .jpg  or  .gif extension
4. It is possible to edit or ‘touch up’ an image. To make it the right size, use width=360 or so as an attribute to the image
